Who can see my property?
Nobody, until you say so. A property is private when it is created, and stays that way until you turn on "Share this property publicly" from the property page. That gives you a link. Anyone holding it can see the property, and nobody else can. Turning the switch back off stops the link working right away.
Does sharing a property publish my address?
Only if you choose to. A shared property shows your town and state by default, with no street address and no map. You can change it to the full address with a map, or to nothing at all, and the setting sits beside the switch that turns sharing on.
Can I share one project without sharing the whole property?
Yes. A project can have a link of its own, and it works whether or not the property is shared, so you can send somebody the kitchen remodel without publishing the house. It is a separate switch from the one that decides whether a project appears on the property's public page, because they are different questions: one is about having a link worth sending, the other about what a visitor to the property sees. Photos you have marked Private stay off it either way.
Can I keep a photo off the public page?
Yes. Mark it Private in the asset manager and it stays off every public view of the property, while remaining in your own records. Photos sent in a conversation start private for this reason.
A photo I texted someone appeared on my property. Why?
Photos sent in a conversation are filed against the property automatically, so the record of the work stays complete without anyone having to remember to upload them twice. They arrive marked Private, so they are not shown publicly, and you can file them under a room or remove them.
Does the person I am messaging need an account?
Not to read the thread. A conversation invite is a link they can open and read right away. Replying needs an account. The link is good once. It stops working as soon as the person it was sent to signs in and takes it up, and it expires on its own if nobody does. You can also cancel it from the conversation, which is where you can see who still holds one.
Can I hand a property to somebody else?
Yes, when a house is sold, or the record belongs with whoever owns it now. Enter their email address on the property page and you get a link back. Send it to them yourself: we do not email it. Only somebody signed in with that address can accept it, so a forwarded link is no use to anyone else.
What happens when a property is transferred?
It moves completely. The photos, documents, projects and history go with it, and you lose access. This is a hand-off, not sharing, and it cannot be undone once they accept. The property's public page is switched off, so any link you had shared stops working and the new owner decides for themselves whether to publish it. Photos you marked Private travel with the property; the conversations they came from stay with you. Until it is accepted you can cancel the invitation, and it expires on its own after two weeks.
What happens to a receipt I upload?
It is read for the merchant, the date and the totals, and attached to the project you filed it under. Receipts are never part of a public page. What you spent is yours.
